Valentine Parties
With the implementation of the Student Allergy Prevention and Response Plan and the District Wellness Policy, there were a lot of changes. As a whole, everything has gone really smoothly. As you start to plan for the Valentine parties, please remember that students can no longer bring in candy for their classmates. There are several brands of Valentines that come with pencils or stickers instead of candy. Once again, this is accordance to the Student Allergy Prevention and Response Plan and the District Wellness Policy.
As room parents start to plan for the Valentines parties, I would like to pass on a few reminders. If room parents are going to order food through SFNS, order forms need to be turned in to the café managers by Friday, February 3rd to allow for timely delivery. Nurses still need to check for classroom allergies, so room parents need to submit to the nurses by Wednesday, February 8th, a list of all food items that are going to be served. There is a list of foods that meet the Missouri Eat Smart Guidelines for Classroom Parties on the District website under SFNS.
